This is heavy-handed humour, but not entirely without merit, and it is fun to see that our man Chesterton is the one chosen to be lashed with a wet noodle:
Incidentally, there is a great selection from Chesterton, on Gothic architecture, up today at The Hebdomadal Chesterton. My goodness, whoever runs that blog is doing a fine, fine job.

I ran across this somewhere else not long ago and meant to post it on my blog, but never got around to it. I’m laughing out loud now at the sight of that guy, without even needing to watch it again.

I don’t see why he had to leave seminary.

Sorry, but your man Chesterton WAS misogynist and WAS dismissive of the poor/exploited/disenfranchised as just too…messy…to bother thinking about. The guy WAS a predictable, shallow jerk stuck in his own cycles of self-serving, circular reasoning. (And, if he thought staying home 100% and never interacting with the outside world in any way whatsoever was so “freeing,” why didn’t HE stay home 24/7 and stop writing, speaking, hanging out with the white boys at the club as soon as he had enough money to never work again?) He was a stupid, predictable, elitist, spoiled JERK.

Sounds like somebody got up on the wrong side of the bed. Thanks anyway.
